The passports of Japan and Singapore have just become the best to have in the world.
The powerful passports of Japan and Singapore allow their citizens to travel to 180 nations visa-free.
A visa is a document that allows you to travel to, to visit or to immigrate into a foreign country. For example US-American citizens are allowed to travel to 176 places without needing this special document. At the end of last year, Singapore and Germany both held the top spot, but now Germany has dropped to second place while allowing visa-free travel to 179 destinations.
The two Asian countries have moved up due to Uzbekistan removing its visa-requirements for these nationals.
On the other side of the spectrum is Afghanistan whose citizens can merely travel to 24 destinations visa-free.
